Special Diets - Allergies & Food Intolerance
If your child requires a special diet due to allergies or food intolerance you now need to complete a Special Diet Request Form which you can request from the School Office.
Once your form is received a Dolce Nutrionalist, in conjunction with our School Cook, will prepare a suitable set of menus for your child. You will then be asked to approve this menu.
School Grid
When your child first starts school, the School Office will set you up on School Grid. School Grid will give you access to the school menu, list of allergens and will enable you to book your child's school dinner.
Special Diets - Religious Beliefs
If your child requires a special diet due to religious beliefs, please make sure you clearly state this in your application form.
Vegetarian Diets
If your child is vegetarian please pick the vegetarian option on School Grid. No special form needs to be completed. Children who are listed as vegetarian will be given vegetarian food only.
Children who just do not like the meat option on any particular day will not necessarily be given a vegetarian option as only so many vegetarian portions are cooked each day.
Jacket potatoes with a variety of fillings are available every day.
Bread
Freshly baked on site every day.
Paid for meals
Paid for meals are £2.34 per day for children in Year 3 - Year 6. School Dinners are paid via School Grid. You can top up your child's account as and when you choose. You will be sent an email alerting you if your balance goes below £5.
Universal Infant Free School Meals: FS-Y2
In 2014 the government introduced universal infant free school meals for all pupils in Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2.
Free School Meals
Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:
Income Support
income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
income-related Employment and Support Allowance
support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
If you think you are eligible for free school meals (even if your child receives Universal Infant Free School Meals) please let the staff in the School Office know as we receive essential additional funding for every free school meal pupil which will benefit your child beyond just free school dinners.
