Safeguarding

Garsingon CE Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all its pupils. We expect all staff, governors and volunteers to share this commitment.

We undertake rigorous checks on all staff and volunteers who work in our school. Staff and governors who are involved in the recruitment of employees are trained in the Safer Recruitment Process.

All our staff follow the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance (published by the DFE) and will:

  • Establish and maintain an environment where children feel secure and are encouraged to talk and are listened to

  • Take appropriate action to address any concerns that they identify

  • Ensure children know that there are adults in the school whom they can approach if they are worried

  • Include opportunities in PHSE curriculum for children to develop the skills they need to recognise and stay safe from abuse

  • Recognise that each pupil’s welfare is of paramount importance and that some children may be especially vulnerable to abuse e.g. those with special educational needs, those living in adverse circumstances or those who witness violence.

Raising a concern

If you have concerns about the safety or wellbeing of someone at our school, please speak to a member of our safeguarding team, in school or by phone:
